Frame measurement and component interface review

Spec Review

Custom ebike frame review before a supplier quote

Resolve what the frame must accommodate and which evidence should follow it. A geometry drawing, mounting sketch and approved revision are more useful than a photograph when suppliers propose alternatives.

Request a specification review

Build an evidence request pack

Material and geometry

Request the proposed material and construction description, dimensioned drawing and revision. List wheel size, axle spacing, head tube, seat tube, brake mounting and battery enclosure interfaces that require confirmation. Ask the supplier to mark deviations rather than returning a generic catalog drawing.

Test scope and conditions

Ask what exact-item test evidence is available, what configuration was evaluated and which conditions apply. Identify manufacturer, model and report revision. Frame evidence does not establish battery, charger or complete-system approval; an unfamiliar document needs appropriate specialist review.

Sample and pack record

Define the sample finish, included mounts, protective packing and intended inspection. Compare measured dimensions to the approved drawing and record differences. Ask for carton dimensions, gross weight and pack ratio for the actual frame or complete-bicycle shipment; sample packing may differ.

Commercial and shipment scope

Separate frame tooling, finishing, sample charges and production pieces. Battery capacity or motor/controller ratings belong in a complete-bicycle scope when applicable. Ask for the transport configuration and destination assumptions; a frame-only quote must not be compared directly with a delivered bicycle set.

This is a decision worksheet, not a price or performance comparison. A lower-complexity option may suit a standard assortment; a custom design may require additional approval work.

Keep requests distinct from proof

Buyer information

Submit intended use, geometry priorities, component choices, requested rated load, quantity and budget basis. Mark what is fixed and what can change. Define sample acceptance conditions without inventing a finished test result.

Supplier confirmation

Request the exact drawing, construction, compatible components, minimum order, sample terms and available documents. The CPSC standards index is a requirement-scoping reference; it does not certify the proposed item or replace product-specific review.

Use the procurement brief with the inquiry catalog to keep open decisions attached to your RFQ.

Send the frame question that needs resolving

Describe the requested geometry, component interfaces and quantities. Drawings can be discussed after contact; this form does not provide a file-upload function.
